The Eternal Heart of Stone

In the quiet bed of earth, my story starts,
A simple stone with unassuming grace,
Ignored by those with hurried, busy hearts,
I rest in shadows, in my humble place.

I’ve seen the days turn into nights of woe,
Felt winter’s bite and summer’s gentle kiss,
With every storm and every tempest blow,
I stayed, endured, found solace in abyss.

Kicked by the feet of strangers passing by,
Thrown by the hands that saw me as a toy,
Yet in my core, beneath the harsh and dry,
I held a truth, an undiminished joy.

Each crack and chip, a testament of time,
Resilient through the wear of countless years,
For in my heart, a silent, steady chime,
Echoes of love, though marred by pain and tears.

I watched the world in constant, frantic haste,
Saw beauty in the smallest things unfurled,
And though my form by many was disgraced,
I held within a vision of the world.

In love, I found a reason to endure,
A warmth that even stone could understand,
For though I’m trodden, broken, I am sure,
That love transcends the toughest of life’s sand.

Through seasons harsh, I kept my silent vow,
To be a witness, steadfast and alone,
For in my quiet strength, I’ve learned somehow,
That love endures, within a heart of stone.

So, hear my tale, O wandering souls, and see,
There’s beauty in the strength that’s often missed,
For I am stone, yet love flows deep in me,
A simple truth, in darkness still persists.

Though I am small, and often overlooked,
Misused, discarded, shattered, left to be,
I stand in silent love, my heart unshook,
A stone that lives for all eternity.
