The Light in Shadows

Beneath the sky’s unyielding grey,
Words like arrows, aim their way
To hearts wrought soft by tender years,
Chiseling canyons from their tears.

Yet in these valleys, deep and worn,
Where echoes of disdain are born,
A whisper of the wind conceives
A dance of leaves, a rustle in the eaves.

Though heavy lies the cloak of night,
Within its folds, I find the light
Of fireflies, with gentle gleam,
Kindling dreams from the seam of the unseen.

How often must the spirit meet,
On stony ground, the trudge of feet,
Where other voices, sharp and shrill,
Seek to bend the will with chill?

But from this soil, rich and deep,
Where tears have watered, sown to reap,
Emerges green—bold life anew,
In defiant hues of a brighter hue.

With each step on this rugged track,
The burdened back grows strong, not slack.
For every drop of rain that falls,
A flower calls from the crumbling walls.

Amidst the shadows, there I see
The vibrant tapestry to be—
From tangled roots and broken stone,
Beauty known, and kindness shown.

So let the storm its fury cast,
My resolve is built to last.
Spreading light where shadows roam,
Making every heart my home.

For in the world’s relentless spite,
Lies the challenge: wield the light.
Not in blindness to the night,
But to find, and share, the right—

The beauty that in darkness thrives,
The love that keeps our hopes alive.
A quiet strength, from deep within,
To counter sin with a patient grin.

This journey, long, may often sway,
Yet through the fray, I’ll find my way.
In every face, in every place,
I seek the trace of grace, embrace—

The world is wide, its woes profound,
But where there’s sound, there’s ground to found
A realm of peace, begin the feast,
Where love, not least, shall never cease.
